Elephant Folio (24 x 19''). Two color leatherette binding. Edges slightly bumped interior in fine condition. With 200 plates in color and b&w of interior architectural ornaments fabrics glass panes armour carpets and decorations adorning the Koran.

A Collection of West African Islamic Teaching Tablets Used by students in West Africa to practice Arabic calligraphy and learn the teachings of the Qur'an these eleven teaching tablets have Arabic writing and diagrams on both sides. The tablets are smooth from use as the students wash off the charcoal ink they use to write and re-use them many times. They are semi-antique in age and range from 14" to 26" in length.
