A Grand Tour Bronze Inkwell with Tray ca 1880 The urn shape inkwell stands in a dish shape supported on a ddd3/4"H base overall apprx. 6-3/4"H x 10"D. The urn with relief images of gladiators fighting lions on the sides in between anthemion designs double handles with finials supported by busts foliate design on the lid surmounted by a pinecone finial. The tray is cast with an inner relief band depicting a Bacchanale procession of figures and animals surrounded by wreathed images of Roman coins.
