Oil on canvas, unsigned. The lady in a teal dress fancifully embroidered in gold, a gold cloak, and pearls, an ivory fan delicately held before her, two crests at the upper right. Framed.
Completed in 1690 as per cataloguing of the Schwules Museum, the sitter a purported noblewoman contemporary of Liselotte Palatinate. The sitter bears resemblance to Elisabeth-Charlotte D'Orleans, Madame Palatine's daughter.
Stretcher: 33 1/4 x 26 in. (84.5 x 66 cm.), frame: 37 1/4 x 30 1/2 in. (94.6 x 77.5 cm.)

Comprised of guards carved with a floral design and fifteen pierced and carved sticks with crown-form tops, conjoined by a white silk ribbon. Estimate ?150-200 The pierced and painted ivory fan has a broken outer stick the 2inch section has cleanly broken off and should glue back wear to the paper at this join with some tearing and the first inner guard is loose from the paper mount small tears along most of the tips and general rubbing on the folds essentially fair. The other ivory fan has a broken stick which is first in from the right hand side when viewed from the pictorial front this 1 inch section is lacking paper torn along most of the edge work joining to the right guard and along the first fold on the left side grubby and with other small tears. The third fan - sticks are good damp spotting throughout with tears and peeling particularly at the back. Overall as found and attention will be needed not subject to return.
