Height: 7" Width: 4" Depth: 19" Note: Jesse H. Jones (1874-1956) was a Houston based politician, entrepreneur, publisher and banker. A true "Texas Tycoon," his business savvy was likely a lifesaver during the Great Depression for his employees. Mr. and Mrs. Jesse H. Jones are documented philanthropists, having donated to colleges and universities intending to aid students in need, including women and people of color. Establishing the Houston Endowment in 1937 to manage the magnitude of their Texas-sized philanthropic social work and financial gifts, which are comparable to Houston's legendary First Lady of Texas, Ima Hogg. Provenance: Property from the Jesse H. Jones and Houston Endowment Collection, all proceeds to benefit the Houston Food Bank.
