Base stretcher pegged to each turned leg, brass hardware appears to be original and of the period. A 1996 note inside the drawer states the table came from a cottage in Wales owned by a famous Welsh opera star, and the guild that made the table was located in Chester, England during the 1685-1695 period. 28 1/2"H x 33 7/8"W x 21 3/4"D. Early 18th century. Provenance: Mary Beth Cranwell Montgomery Estate, Knoxville, TN. Condition: Old surface with abrasions to top, stretcher, and legs. Insect damage to bottom of drawer. Rosehead nails present with some later square nails for drawer and rails. Drawer runners likely 19th century replacements, chips/losses to left front and left rear foot.
