ENGLISH JACOBEAN HIGH CHAIR AND SMALL TABLE/STOOLEnglish Jacobean furniture including high chair and stool/table. 1st item - Jacobean oak child's high chair with rear flat stiles and teardrop finials, paneled back with carved interlocking "V" design, arms extend to front stiles with mushroom cap rests, turned front legs, base with box stretcher, wooden panel seat, pegged throughout. 33 1/2"H x 16"W x 14"D. 17th or 18th century, English. 2nd item - Small Jacobean oak stool with shaped edge top over square base with bulbous baluster ring turned legs, base with box stretcher. 17 3/4"H. 17th or 18th century, English or Continental. Condition:
1st item - older refinished surface, several pegs appear to be later replacements, old bruises and abrasions appropriate for age. 2nd item - older refinish, old losses and abrasions to turnings, newer reinforcement blocks on top underside, possible loss of height. Top may be slightly later than the base.

ENGLISH JACOBEAN OAK WORK
ENGLISH JACOBEAN OAK WORK TABLEEnglish Jacobean oak work table with overhanging top, single drawer with side hung runners, and turned stretcher base. Base stretcher pegged to each turned leg, brass hardware appears to be original and of the period. A 1996 note inside the drawer states the table came from a cottage in Wales owned by a famous Welsh opera star, and the guild that made the table was located in Chester, England during the 1685-1695 period. 28 1/2"H x 33 7/8"W x 21 3/4"D. Early 18th century. Provenance: Mary Beth Cranwell Montgomery Estate, Knoxville, TN.
Condition:
Old surface with abrasions to top, stretcher, and legs. Insect damage to bottom of drawer. Rosehead nails present with some later square nails for drawer and rails. Drawer runners likely 19th century replacements, chips/losses to left front and left rear foot.
