[Autographs and Manuscripts] James Fenimore Cooper Signed Check PlusĀ James Fenimore Pooper (1789-1851). Early 19th century author noted around the world for his American frontier stories such as The Last of the Mohicans. Framed group including: a check dated Nov. 7 1846 from the Otsego County Bank in Cooperstown NY signed J. Fenimore Cooper clearly in black ink; an engraving of Cooper bearing his facsimile signature; and the title page to his 1841 novel The Deerslayer.
