A George Medal and WWII five medal group to Detective Constable Edward N. Snitch Metropolitan Police comprising GM Exemplary Police Service Medal 1939-45 star France and Germany star DM and WM; with a scrap album containing press cuttings certificates letters and photographs with two original tickets for the ceremony at Buckingham Palace and the original typed witness statement dated 7th February 1953 Estimate ?4 000-6 000 DC Edward Norman Snitch (1918-1992) and PC Edward Dorsett were both awarded the George Medal for ''courage and tenacity'' after arriving at Cedra Mantles on February 7th 1953 following a 'tip-off' and gave chase after two felons who had attempted to rob the wages clerk as he arrived with that weeks pay. During the chase DC Snitch was shot by Thomas John Jenkins the bullet grazing his right temple missing his eye by a mere inch. Both officers were subsequently awarded their GM's at Buckingham Palace on 27th October 1953. Descriptions provided in both printed and on-line catalogue formats do not include condition reports. John Quincy Adams Signed Land Grant 1p 9.5 x 15.5 in. vellum 29 Feb. 1828 partially printed document signed J.Q. Adams (Pres. 1825-1829) Filed at the land office in Crawfordsville IN for John Jenkins. Condition: Folds as expected. Some of the ink is fading but Adams' signature still strong. Paper seal intact.
