Johnson Wax Company's Administrative Office Building in Racine, Wisconsin by Frank Lloyd Wright, this rare iconic work desk and chair made by Cassina. In 1985, the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation granted Cassina an exclusive license to produce this writing desk , 1 (617) and chair, 2 (618) from Wright's original blueprints for Johnson Wax. These pieces are no longer made. Tubular steel frame with three natural wood table tops and arms. Both pieces are numbered, desk, 0207, chair 0261 and have the Cassina and Frank Lloyd Wright names and trademark logos. Three long drawers beneath, dovetailed with beaded edges and glass knobs, flanked by fully turned columns with ring turnings at top and bottom. Four ring and ball turned feet. 51 7/8" H x 44" W x 23 1/4" D. Circa 1845. Provenance: the estate of John Davis descendant Sarah Hunter Hicks Green, formerly of Historic Devon Farm, Nashville, Tennessee.
