CA. 1720 MOHAWK VALLEY BLANKET CHEST. Early red painted pine example with hand forged strap hinges, Rosemead nails, linen fold applied corner mouldings on bracket base. 22”H x 55”W x 18.5”D. Provenance: Acquired out of an old house in Johnstown NY, settle by German immigrants in 1709. Sussman Collection.

SWANK & CO., JOHNSTOWN, PA" and "1-1/2", 8-3/4 in.

glaze voids and anomalies as made, kiln debris, various surface abrasions, canning jars with abrasions to surface, storage jar with 2 in. base edge chip with associated spider crack on base, hairline running up side up jar for 4 in., 1/2 in. interior rim chip, other minor rim chip and abrasions, Swank jar with kiln debris, firing separations at rim, possible patch repair at base edge
