A fine sporting rifle with "Ky influence", having half round half octagon bbl, with gold band at breech. Fine engraved mounts of German silver including patch-box and capox on the cheek side. Cheek piece inlayed with running stag. Minor wood damage, replaced r.rod thimbles, missing one bbl key escutcheon. Good working order, original ramrod, very good plus. Estimate $2,000-2,500

Full-Stock Percussion Rifle Signed J. F. Golcher .36 cal. 36'' octagonal barrel. Signed on top of barrel engraved J. F. Golcher. Forward action percussion lock. Brass furniture and engraved silver eagle on the cheek piece. Barrel held to stock by three wedges. Maple stock. Condition: Barrel is smooth with a nice plum color; some staining on barrel. Lock is grey to plum with some pitting around the percussion drum. Hammer has a small repair in the elbow of hammer. Stock is excellent with some nicks and dings.

Brass mounted percussion rifle, 34 in. octagonal barrel, full maple stock, lockplate marked "Joseph Golcher", fancy brass patch box, brass and silver inlay throughout, cheek plate with crescent moon and brass inlay. Stock with old finish, possibly traces old painted decoration, rust in pit area, probably lacking barrel bands, tang lacking several screws, brass elements with old mellow patina, minor scratches and scrapes. .

Oil on canvas, signed lower left and dated 1930. Depicts a young colonial man traipsing through the woods. Caption: "His basic sense of security was further evidenced by the fact he bore his rifle carelessly across his shoulders". Housed in a replica deep cove gold frame with dusty rose velvet liner, OS: 37 1/2" x 48 1/2", SS: 37 1/2" x 47 1/2". Fine condition. Title given on label verso. Inscribed in pencil "Given to Ruth Ann Koerner from her father WHD Koerner, 1930".
