She received her BFA from the Rhode Island School of Design and studied with Paul Zimmerman at the Hartford Art School in Connecticut. Owens paintings are in private, public and corporate collections, including New Britain Museum of American Art, IBM, Duracell, Slater Memorial Museum, Marriott, Otis Elevator, Aetna Insurance and Liberty Mutual Insurance.

Ben Shahn, (American, 1898-1969). Offset lithographs accompanying Wendell Berry's memorial poem, "November Twenty Six Nineteen Hundred Sixty Three," 1963. Subject was a tribute to John F. Kennedy, and a memorial to his death. Signed, framed behind glass, 30" x 30. Born in Lithuania to an orthodox Jewish family, Shahn became one of America's leading Social-Realist painters, addressing causes related to social injustices. In 1998, the Jewish Museum in New York City organized a traveling exhibition of his works that he created between 1936 and 1965.
