A KOREAN TEN-PANEL FOLDING SCREEN OF ILLUSTRIOUS LIFETIME OF A YANGBAN MAN Joseon dynasty (1392-1910), ink and colors on silk with brocade mounting, inscription to upper corner of each painting panel together with two red artist's seal and a third red leaf shaped seal, each panel depicts a scene celebrating an accomplishment in the life of a man in the elite class yangban class, second only to the royal family in rank, major accomplishments such as passing state examinations or promotions in the government as well as Confucian family celebrations are featured in the paintings.
