SIMON KENTON, KENTUCKY PIONEER, DS, 1813 Simon Kenton (1755-1836, explorer of Kentucky with Daniel Boone, early settler of Ohio, served as battalion commander under Wayne in 1790s, Brig. Gen. in Ohio Militia from 1805) Hand-written deed, signed, dated July 5, 1813, conveying a tract of 400 acres in Bracken Co., Kentucky, to William McCarty; 2 1/4 pp., folio, 13 x 7 3/4 in., with appropriate endorsements by John Payne, Bracken Co. clerk.; together with an engraved portrait.
