KENTUCKY PERCUSSION RIFLEA very handsome and interesting Kentucky (Pennsylvania) rifle in .50 caliber, with an extremely heavy barrel, tiger striped stock, brass patch box, and single screw lock, with a drum conversion to the barrel. There are no visible marks on lock or barrel. There is some simple carving on the stock. It has double set triggers. All the mounts are nicely shaped brass. The barrel is octagonal, and there are parts of a more sophisticated rear sight, but part is missing. There is a serpent- like shape engraved in front of the rear sight. Dimensions: The barrel is 40 inches long. The gun overall is 55.5 inches in length. Processing and shipping within the continental U.S. $105.00 plus 1.5% replacement cost insurance
Condition:
There is a repaired crack at the wrist. The lock plate may be an early replacement, dome when the gun was converted to percussion. There is heavy pitting on the lock. Percussion Pistol by Williams & Powell .625 bore dia. smoothbore 9'' octagonal barrel with target-style sights. Engraved patent breech engraved lock and triggerguard. Lock with safety silver trim and nose cap. Checkered walnut stock. This is a period conversion from flint to percussion with a bolster in the side of the patent breech. Condition: Barrel has a nice plum finish with sharp and crisp lines. Lockplate has a dark patina with some staining. Stock has some nicks and dings. Nice sharp and crisp pistol.
