SIXTH PLATE TINTYPE OF CAPTAIN THOMAS R. KEENAN. American 1864-1865. Three-quarter-length seated portrait of Keenan in uniform. In a Union case (damaged). Keenan served in the 13th 17th and 56th Massachusetts infantries. His wounding at the Battle of the Wilderness forced his resignation from the 56th however he reenlisted in the 2nd Massachusetts Heavy Artillery and was later commissioned a captain in the 17th Massachusetts Infantry.
