GUCCI WATCH CANE AND A COMPASS CANEThe first with a gilt Gucci Italy tag. The tapered hand grip with gilt metal surround opening to an enamel watch dial. The spherical shaped handhold fitted with a working compass, signed Keuffel & Esser Co., the ebonized shaft also opening to reveal a corked vile. Length 38 in. (Cond: good) Cf. The Keuffel and Esser Co., also known as K & E, was a prominent drafting instrument and supplies company founded in 1867 by German immigrants, William J. D. Keuffel and Herman Esser. Established in New York, it was the first American company to specialize in these products.
