  18K RARE PHILADELPHIA KEY WIND POCKET WATCH, CIRCA 1870An 18k yellow gold hunting pocket watch by Philadelphia Watch Co., with a jeweled key wind movement serial number 3250. The movement was produced from 1868 - 1886. The movement is marked with "Paulus Patent '68 Aug. 25th, Nov. 3rd". The case has a floral scroll pattern etched into the back and front, with the monogram "JCM" on the front bottom. The case is 43mm without the stem, it is marked "M.B.&Co. 18K 7735" and is engraved on the interior "From John F. Miller to his wife Josie C Feb 2nd 1871". The dial is enamel, with a seconds register, blue steel hands, and Roman numerals for the hours. The watch weighs 47.6dwt and comes with the original custom box with velvet interior and embossed leather exterior. Condition There is a small chip in the enamel dial at the three o'clock position.The pocket watch has no key and is untested. Case is in excellent condition with mild wear. The leather box has a lot of wear consistent with age, hinges and clasp are in good working condition.
