MARK VAN DOREN, HANDWRITTEN BOOK OF POETRY Mark Van Doren (June 13, 1894 – December 10, 1972), 58 different working poems and one extra started with a title but never finished with all entries written in author's hand and set on individual leaves in a bound album. 4/1968-9/17/1968 and skips to 9/8/1971 to 12/1/1972, set in two sessions each initialed by the author with initials, M.V.D. He was the 1940 Pulitzer Prize winner with the last entry he made was 9 days or less before his passing. Bound in grey cloth with a later inscription inside front cover with authors name, describing the handwriting and quantity of works.

This is the original period printing starting at page 284, and running through 504 skipping to 547 thus being the last page. This binding has the original 2 blue rear wraps for section 6 and complete original front and rear blue wraps for sections 7,8 and 9, each being bound separately and then collectively bound of which section 9 is loose but bound tight, as a section, with full original wrappers. Shorthand by T Lloyd printed by Samuel Louden. Thomas Lloyd (1756-1827), known as the "Father of American Shorthand." He published the most complete and official record of the First Continental Congress from the notes taken in his shorthand of which this is one of them.

THREE PISGAH FOREST POTTERY CAMEO VESSELS All with a dark green field and applied cameo motifs, the first, a small creamer, depicts Indians pursuing buffalo, dated on the underside 1937 (2 1/2 in.) (small glaze bubble pop on the rim); the second, also a cream jug, dated 1949, depicts a fiddler and dog (3 1/4 in.) (small blemish to a high point on the side, possibly from kiln contact); the third is the more unusual scene of a dog chasing deer, dated 1950 (3 3/4 in.) (glaze skips around the upper rim).
