Decorated overall with multi-colored flowers, an exterior scene featuring numerous Geishas, and gilt accents and crackle glaze overall. Signed at the underside, over glaze. Small flake to interior rim of cover, very light wear to decoration. 5" high. ESTIMATE $600-800 Purchased from Flying Cranes, Manhattan Art & Antiques, in May 1995.

of rectangular section raised on four elephant-head feet, the main body decorated with two rectangular panels, each inlaid with mixed-metal decoration showing birds, butterflies and floral blossoms, against a reticulated ground filled with flower heads, flanked by a pair of dragon-form handles, the neck incised with a T border, together with a silvered metal interior, the rectangular cover with similar openworked floral design, surmounted by a kirin-form finial, the underside bearing a two-character maker's mark.

Estimate ?150-200 Metal cover has a slight brassy tinge colour to it and may well have been silver plated at one time it fits into a metal ring which is inset into the step of the aperture at the top of the koro there is some slight wear to the gilding on the top of the koro the ring handles and the lower band around foot some slight wear to gilding on seal mark also some later modern number labels stuck underneath but otherwise in good condition.
