Janos Viski (Hungarian,
Janos Viski (Hungarian, 1891-1961) Landscape with herder and animals. Oil on canvas, approx. 30" x 40", signed lower left, framed overall approx. 36" x 45". Viski was born in Szokolya, Hungary and studied at the Academy of Fine Arts under Tividar Zemplenyi. He began to exhibit his paintings in 1913. He painted mainly animals and was interested in the problems of motion and form as well as the color effects of open air light. His most frequent model was the horse.
