Pair KPM porcelain urns: exceptionally fine portrait medallions with gilt borders on rich cobalt grounds, winged griffin handles, bases with red printed KPM mark and blue scepter mark (Berlin) under glaze, incised marks "F" and "00", 19th century, 21 in. Gentleman with some losses to gilding on border of portrait, other very minor losses to gilding, no breaks or repairs found, slight soiling on handles. Formerly the Estate of Katheryn Holabird Luedeking (died 1952), Palm Beach, Florida; said to be from a castle in Germany.

PAIR OF KPM LIDDED URNS, 19TH CENTURY 17 ½" x 10" x 7 ¾" Overall creamy white ground with scene on each of a romantic couple, verso is of a floral bouquet. Round base with repetitive motifs around the sides, gilt highlights throughout, lower portion of the urn are scrolling serpents on a pastel yellow ground above acanthus leaves. Rims in repeating pattern, gilt around the rim. Leaves on the top around the bronze flame finial. Each piece marked appropriately to the underside along with "144/1B" and impressed "FN2"; the other vase with proper KPM marks and an impressed "2".
