Buttstock has a .25'' solid crack at the left side of the lower tang. Buttstock and forearm are excellent.

The backstrap is engraved ''D. Fletcher.'' The case is an original Smith and Wesson gutta percha case with high relief-molded revolver on the top. Case with internal wear and damage/loss at one corner. Gun retains no silver plating but about 75% of the bluing on the barrel (most of the loss is at the bore) and about 90% of the bluing on the cylinder. Engraving crisp and sharp marks slightly less so.
