MARIE ANATOLE G. ROULLET (1847-1925) ROCKIESA watercolour by Marie Anatole Gaston Roullet (1847-1925, French) of a view of the Canadian Rockies with a logged forest in the foreground, signed lower right along with the word Canada. In the original gold leaf frame. Roullet was appointed painter to the French Navy and colonies in 1885 and later became the correspondent for the "Le Monde Illustré" providing scenes from Africa, Oceania, Indochina and Canada. Name and date 1877 affixed verso. FRANCAIS: Aquarelle de Marie Anatole Gaston Roullet (1847-1925, Français) d'une vue des Rocheuses canadiennes avec une forêt défrichée au premier plan, signée en bas à droite avec le mot Canada. Dans le cadre d'origine à la feuille d'or. Roullet est nommé peintre de la Marine française et des colonies en 1885 et devient plus tard le correspondant du "Monde Illustré" fournissant des scènes d'Afrique, d'Océanie, d'Indochine et du Canada.
