  AN UNUSUAL AND HEAVILY CARVED OAK DESK CIRCA 1890The oval top with carved egg-and-dart edge overhangs the six-legged cabinet with seven drawers having densely carved fronts and large carved panels with medieval scenes, all divided by six substantial heavily carved rope twist columns over acanthus carved paw feet.Measures 30 x 53.5 x 30.5 inches.Very good original condition, noting the two lower drawers are missing hardware. No other major issues, there are the subtle minor effects of age and use including shrinkage of wood as shown. This piece exhibits very nice patina overall.
