BLACK DUCK BY JOSEPH LINCOLN As Lincoln black ducks go, this one is a little larger than most, with a robust form and upswept tail. There are delineated wings and wing tips, feathering to its back, and unusual dotting on the wing patches, all done with a slightly darker shade of paint than the body. A highly unusual species. Unsigned. Identified as "BLACK DUCK" in white on bottom.
3 3/4" long.
Surface original and excellent in all respects.

This Delaware River classic was acquired in the historic American Heritage Society Auction of Americana at Sotheby Parke Bernet in 1975. The underside retains its maker marking and the "SPB" lot sticker.
Excellent Dan English paint with light gunning wear and some loss to a reset tail chip.
