Renzo Colombo (Italian 1856-1885) L'Empereur Napoléon. Large cast bronze with warm dark brown patina bust of Napoleon features the emperor in military dress. Below the bust is a figure of an eagle holding a double torch with flames at both ends in his talons. This piece is signed and dated 1885 on Napoleon's right shoulder; foundry mark "BRONZE GARANTI AU TITRE" with Grand Croix de la Légion d'honneur on the left shoulder. Brass plaque " NAPOLEON 1-er 1812 par COLOMBO" beneath the eagle figure. Overall size is apprx. 22"T x 14-1/2"W x 11"D.
