CHINESE MING STYLE LONGQUAN WARE PLATE A Ming style longquan plate from lotus rounded sides rising from a short tapered foot to a broad barbed rim. The green-brown glaze fills etchings in the clay to present images of peony blossoms and other floral motifs under a smooth even finish.

Plates are both marked "Longwy", tiles have not been examined out of the frame. The plate with the floral motifs has some losses to glaze at the rim, minor nicks to the tiles where the edges join together, minor wear to the other plate. Plates are 9 3/4" diameter, tiles within modern frame are 16 x 6 1/4" high overall. ESTIMATE $200-300

CHINESE CELADON GLAZED LONGQUAN
CHINESE CELADON GLAZED LONGQUAN PLATE, MING D. A Chinese celadon glazed longquan plate, dating from the Ming dynasty (1368-1644). Bottom of plate is smooth and cheek has shallow incised marks around, the flattens at the turned up rim, with a wide, recessed foot which shows a ring of unglazed stoneware. Back of pate is smooth celadon glaze.
