Haggerty Ceramics (Santa Barbara California) Blue Luster Vase with Swirl Design and Melt Fissures by Linda Haggerty. Very nice color and metallic glaze. Signed Haggerty and marked 10-11-15-G. Mint. 8'' tall. James (Jim) Haggerty is one of the few ceramic artists who has mastered the difficult firing process known as ''strike reduction'' or ''Persian luster''. Linda Haggerty is known for her work in sculpture tile and pottery designs that incorporate traditional and contemporary forms and the Persian luster process. Most recently she has enjoyed collaborating with James embellishing his pottery with her designs and his glazes. An Art Deco Carlton Ware Lustre Vase Stoke on Trent England ca. 1920-26 Footed vase with tapered neck with wide flared rim over shoulders. Hand enameled in polychrome depicting a pair of Birds of Paradise and butterflies fluttering among blooming foliage on mottled orange-burgundy background gilt highlights throughout; rim decorated with neoclassical design in gold on pearlescent background. Stamped with "Carlton Ware" later crown mark in black inscribed with "Registration applied for" "0/176" "3154" "X" with four dots in black underglaze; also inscribed with "8" in red overglaze and incised with "226" underglaze on the bottom. Measures apprx. 10-3/8"T x 5"D at the widest point.

American and English, early 19th to early 20th century. Property of the Birmingham Museum of Art.
Condition:
Several pieces with condition issues. Teapot with chip on inside of rim and firing flaw to miss interior knob. The largest mug is repaired. Hairline on saucer and chips on edge of teacup, 6 pitchers with breaks: 1 heavily repaired and 1 retaining broken handle with 1/4" of stem missing. Three (3) with handle missing. Detailed condition report available on request.
