Condition: Excellent condition with an excellent bore. It retains ca 98% original parkerized finish with only light handling marks. The stock rates excellent and it would be hard to find a better example.

  EARLIEST LEICA M2 VINTAGE 35MM CAMERAOne of the very first batch of 200 Leica M-2 cameras ever made, out of 82,000. Serial number 926184, made in late 1957. Inside is clean, with smoothly functioning shutter, clean shutter curtain. No scratches or wear on pressure plate. Operates at all different speeds. B is very responsive -- will close shutter immediately upon release. Just above and to the left of the shutter speed dial is a spot of wear, with copper showing through. Viewfinder has some haziness. Lens is Elmar 5cm f2.8, and it has some pronounced cloudiness -- might need to be disassembled and cleaned internally. A simple lens wipe does nothing on the outside. Diaphragm and extension work as they should. Comes with original leather case, Elmar lens hood, original owner's manual and a later, 1958 price list of Leica products.
