A 1914/15 TRIO TO PTE SHEPHERD 1ST KINGS OWN SCOTTISH BORDERERS 1914/15 Star correctly impressed, 13749 Pte W J Shepherd K O Sco Bord Pair correctly impressed, 13749 Pte W J Shepherd K O Sco Bord Condition VF+ With cap badge. William K Shepherd landed in Gallipoli on the 30th June 1915; he suffered a bullet wound to his left leg on the 17th of September 1915. He was evacuated to Malta for recovery and, due to the seriousness of the wound, was sent back to the UK. He was discharged in March 1916 due to no longer being physically fit.
