DEBUT, Marcel, (French, 1865-1933): Vercingetorix, Bronze, 22.5'' in height, signed on the base, Salon des Beaux-Arts plaque affixed to bronze plinth, period to the sculpture. Weight: 20 pounds. Vercingetorix was a Gallic chieftain who rallied the tribes of Gaul to repel a Roman invasion by Julius Caesar in 52 BCE. His name means ''victor of a hundred battles''.
CONDITION: Age-appropriate wear. Both of the feathers attached to helmet can be unscrewed and removed.
