Housed in an oval giltwood frame with lamb's tongue sight edge and a scalloped top edge. Sight: 21 1/4" H x 25 1/2" W. Framed: 30" H x 34" W. Condition: The painting has a modern wax lining and has been restretched. Heavy craquelure and slight buckling to canvas. Scattered retouching throughout, visible under UV light inspection. Largest area 7" L to upper edge, also a notable area center sky area (in clouds). 1/4" accretion to lower sail of leftmost ship. Regilding to frame. Painting does not appear to have been cut down.
