The painting is hanging in Pope Pius IX museum in Italy. The White House Historical Association has commissioned Tom for the past 4 years to produce cover art for the Association's annual Christmas card. Tom was awarded the Department of the Navy Superior Public Service Award on April 3, 2003. On September 3, 2003, Tom presented a painting to President George W. Bush depicting the President's landing aboard the U.S.S. Abraham Lincoln. The painting was presented to him in the Oval Office.

Born in Pontiac Michigan in 1952. He had served with the U.S. Military for over seven years and after his service, moved to the art world. Tom Freeman is a well known artist for his works in naval history, generally watercolors and acrylics. Over the span of his career, he had attracted much attention and was asked to display collections of his works in the Vatican, the Clandestine Immigration and Naval Museum in Haifa, Israel, and the Royal Palace of Bahrain. In 1986 Tom was asked to display his works in the White House where they currently reside.

Coretta Scott King (American 1927-2006), "My Life With Martin Luther King, Jr.", published by Holt, Rinehart, and Winston, New York, Chicago, San Francisco, 1969, first edition, signed by the author to the free end paper with personalized inscription, medium octavo, tan cloth covered boards with gilt lettering to the spine. Note: J. Lee Friedman (American 1905-2008), was both a national and local Atlanta promoter of shows from Broadway plays to The Kool Jazz Festival and Sesame Street Live. He continued his work until his death at age 92. Mr. Friedman believed in the Civil Rights Movement and was the first to integrate two Atlanta venues. The Municipal Auditorium and the Tower Theater, although now gone, were two of the most popular venues in Atlanta for many years. Throughout this period Mr. Friedman befriended many of Atlanta's African American Black leaders including the Kings, Marvin Arrington and Hosea Williams. He made it a priority to always be available to offer advice and friendship to African American promoters. Approximate dimensions: h. 9.25", w. 6.25", d. 1.5".
