PAIR OF QUEBEC RELIGIOUS STATUARYA fine pair of 19th century pine religious sculptures of Mary and Joseph from a Quebec church and having a striated gold leaf surface with silver highlights on the flowing robes. Details include Mary with her foot on a serpent's head. Interestingly the two sculptures were found at different times from different sources and re-united by the Allios. Some hands are missing, otherwise good condition. Sorel, Quebec, 19th century. Allio Collection. FRANCAIS: Belle paire de sculptures religieuses représentant Marie (avec son pied sur la tête d'un serpent) et Joseph, pin, provenant d'une église du Québec. Surface striée de feuilles d'or avec reflets argentés sur les robes fluides. Les deux sculptures ont été trouvées à des moments différents de différentes sources et réunies par les Allios.
