Abraham Lincoln Woodcut Memento Mori Woodcut broadside ca 1865 featuring a portrait of Abraham Lincoln at center within a black mourning border containing 13 stars with the bold heading Memento Mori plus Lincoln's birth and assassination dates below bust portrait along with the quote Just of his Word - Observant of His Right. 10 x 13.5 in. (sight) framed and glazed 14.5 x 18.75 in. Although the portrait is a somewhat inaccurate rendering of Lincoln it is probably based on a photograph taken by Anthony Berger taken at Mathew Brady's gallery in Washington D.C. on February 9 1864. Condition: Not examined outside of frame; some small tears along edges of broadside; some loss to broadside along lower left edge; small hole in upper left corner of black border.

Lot. (Abraham Lincoln.) Textile Scraps from the Funeral Car of Abraham Lincoln. In 19th-Century ink-lettered envelope, "Scraps from the funeral car of Mr. Lincoln - April 1865." This envelope was removed from a scrapbook assembled by Green Adams. Born in Barbourville, Kentucky, Adams served as a Federal judge & U.S. Congressman before The Civil War. During The Civil War, Adams supported the Union cause & corresponded with President Lincoln. Three letters from Lincoln to Adams are housed in The Civil War Museum & Library in Philadelphia. A letter outlining this history & provenance is available from Adams's great, great-granddaughter.

Germon of Philadelphia and was probably taken between March 1 and June 30 1861. Plus an oval-length albumen potrait of Lincoln with his son Tad heavily retouched marked in print O. Condition:
All in fair condition with toning/light handling grime. Mary Todd Lincoln CDV has small black specks across image and some edge stains visible on back, small corner fold. Abe Lincoln CDV has some staining at right edge and light corner fold. Lincoln family CDV has corner fold affecting image. George and Martha Washington CDVs have light foxing and corner folds. Washington print has corner fold and foxing, toning. Sheet music in fair to poor condition with edge losses and toning.

Lincoln assassination letter, detailed eyewitness account of events surrounding the assassination of Abraham Lincoln in Ford's Theatre on the evening of April 14, 1865: four-page manuscript letter datelined "'Montauk', Navy Yard, Wash. D.C. April 15th 1865.9 P.M." (sent April 30), from U.S. Navy surgeon Dr. George B. Todd to his brother: "The few hours that have intervened since the terrible (underlined) tragedy of last night have served to give me a little clearer brain…Yesterday about 3 P.M. the President (underlined) and wife drove down to the Navy Yard and paid our ship a visit…In the evening nearly all of us went to Ford's Theatre.
