Deangle mask of short, round form having medial ridge that flows to the tip of the narrow nose, bisecting the split eyes above a pointed chin with feminine features. This mask relates to a group described in Fischer and Himmelheber's definitive study of Dan art, Die Kunst der Dan in 1976 and in the manner of "The Master Sculpture" Uopie (Liberia, 1890-1950). This mask closely resembles a mask previously contained in the Musée du quai Branly by Uopie showing similar recessed, horizontal eye canals. 8 3/4 x 5 1/4 in. (22.2 x 13.3 cm.)
