It has a cast metal hilt with Masonic crown and cross symbol and an etched bone grip with the initials "WJ" within an oak leaf wreath under a crown and Masonic symbols under a crown on the opposite side, inscribed with "Holyrood...Commandery...Cleveland..O.", and terminating in a helmet attached to the hilt with a chain. The scabbard is similarly decorated with "Wm. Job" and oather etched designs, and has cast metal embellishments with figures. It comes with a chamois sheath.

The guard also has a crest with the initials UR, which was given to members of the Uniformed Rank. Sword is marked "M.C. Lilley Co. Columbus Ohio" to one side and a knights helmet on the other side.
