Attractive antique standing grizzly bear figure with a soft and dark fur body, silk vest piece, and brass chain muzzle, whose internal aluminum framework causes the cymbals to clash together by hand operating a lever near the top of the left leg. The figureÍs arms swing out to a nearly eight-inch wingspan. 8 _î tall. Minor fur loss at head and foot.

Base marked with maker's stamped mark "K G with a bird over three paramount picks" "Germany" and "KEN-D" in diamond shape on the bottom. Measures approx. 11-1/4"T x 6-1/2"D at the widest point. Integral key. Ring at the top to hang. Working order not tested or guaranteed.

  A Singing Bird in a Cage Automaton The mechanical singing bird with blue and gray plumage atop a perch with leafy vines sits in the center of a gilt metal cage stamped by Reuge Music Made in Switzerland on the underside with a floral relief decoration around the base and small feet underneath. There is a small lever under the edge of the base to turn it on and off winding key and screen covering the bellows. It has a beautiful chirp; turns from side to side and wiggles its tail feathers.
