MEISSEN PORCELAIN STANDING LIONESS Large German White Glazed Porcelain Lion Figure, circa 1930s, designed by sculptor August Gaul (Germany, 1869-1921), modeled by Max Esser, Model A 1054, on a rectangular base, base top edge embossed 'A. Gaul', impressed crossed swords mark and "Weiss" to underside and at one end of base, incised model # on underside, 12 1/4" high, 4 5/8" x 14 1/2" long. Good condition.

JAPANESE BRONZE COVERED LION CENSER ,MEIJI PERIOD A Japanese bronze covered censer, dating from the Meiji period. A lion with a horn is crouched on his hind legs, his mouth open. The head and mane comprise the cover of this censer. Censer conveys an overall impression of power and fierceness, with the open mouth bellowing the smoke once the censer is used.

Condition: Good condition overall for age and use. Some oxidation on the base.

The Brunswick Lion is a monument and the best known landmark in the German city of Braunschweig (Brunswick). MATHIAS KOMOR EGYPTIAN CERAMIC
MATHIAS KOMOR EGYPTIAN CERAMIC LIONEgyptian ceramic seated lion, retaining some of the original painting. With a sticker from Mathias Komor affixed along the underside of the lion. Komor was one of the first New York art and antiquity dealers to handle ancient and primitive art. The sticker reads "Mathias Komor Works of Art New York" and is numbered 0713. With a small wooden plinth.
Lion; height: 1 1/2 in x width: 2 3/4 in x depth: 1 in. Base; height: 1 in x width: 3 1/4 in x depth: 1 1/2 in.
Condition:
Some of the original painting is still visible, particularly the red along the mane of the lion. There is a large loss along the front of the lion; the front paws are missing. There is an additional loss along the back of the lion. There are a few minute chips along the edge of the base of the lion. Light wear to the wooden base. Minor loss to the sticker affixed underneath the lion.
