The regiment mustered out in August 1865. Total battle casualties were light at 13.This example is unusual in that it contains seven oval albumen portraits affixed to the pre-printed positions. Included are the three regimental S & F officers the three Company B officers from muster-in and presumably a private named Canute Canutesen who was the original owner of this piece. Canutesen was from Ottawa WI and enlisted as a private in August 1862. He mustered out August 1865. That makes this record identified as well.Capt. M. A. Townsend commanding Company B pictured at center was KIA in 1864 at Mark's Mill Arkansas. Condition: Stains on print a few scattered small holes and a small crack in glass in lower left corner.
