MODEL 1816 MIDDELTON FLINTLOCK
MODEL 1816 MIDDELTON FLINTLOCK PISTOLA handsome US North Model 1816 single shot flintlock pistol, well marked, and in excellent functioning condition. The barrel is marked P over US, and the lock has the eagle, US, and Middletown, Connecticut. There are marks on the wood at the sideplate, including a small oval, and a letter U, as well as another that is not legible. Dimensions: t he gun is 16 inches long overall, with the barrel being 9 inches long. Processing and shipping within the continental U.S. $32.00 plus 1.5% replacement cost insurance.
Condition:
The wood is original but has been reworked, and there is a piece missing behind the lockplate that exposes the rear of the plate. There is a barely visible crack in the grip. The marks on the lockplate are partially obscured, but parts are clear. The wooden ramrod appears to be original, although it too has been refinished. The steel parts are very nice, and clean. There are a couple of tiny patches of scattered pitting just above the touch hole, and some signs of cleaning on the barrel. It is in a superb holster and belt that is studded with more than 10 ounces of antique silver coins, mostly old silver Mexican coins with dates in the 1870's, '80's and '90's. Having a Mexican style double loop holster and cartridge belt with silver coins on it, some from the 1700's. Serial number: 14312. Size: revolver is 14 inches long overall. Belt is about 44 inches long overall. 13 silver coins totaling more than 10 ounces of coins silver.
