The tureen has geometric and foliate decorations, grapes on vines, and two figural handles. The underplate and lid have coordinating embellishments. Underside of the tureen and the plate are marked "Villeroy & Boch...Mettlach" within a green insignia, and impressed numbers "418", "87", and "16".
