AMERICAN STAINED WOOD SHIP'S HALF HULL NIPSIC CLASS With exposed skeletal structure on stained oak back. Commissioned on September 2nd 1863 the gunboat the USS Nipsic was sponsored by Miss Rebecca Scott and was built at the Portsmouth Navy Yard.
