Backsplash ear repair, top scratches, top edge veneer losses and repairs, bottom drawer missing lock escutcheon.

  A Hand Made Miniature Chest of Drawers Fashioned in a honey color wood with a rich patina, approx. 11-1/4"W x 8-1/2"D x 9-1/8"H, on four squared tapering legs, three drawers with turned wood knobs, the top, front and two sides detailed in a double line of inlay and with a diamond shape in the center of the top. The secondary woods inside the drawers have a slightly aromatic quality, one with burned emblem, and may have come from wooden cigar boxes originally. The numbers "5.8.36" are written on the underside, possibly indicating a date.

Southern, mid-19th century. Provenance: Collection of Charles and Ann Wells, Nashville, Tennessee.
