WHITNEY/US", browned barrel marked "1850" on the tang and "US/GW/VP" and marked "STEEL" on the left side of the breech, inside the patch box is a spare nipple and musket tool, with a brass-tipped ramrod.

Model 1841 Harpers Ferry Rifle with Saber Bayonet .54 cal. 33" round barrel with saber bayonet attachment.??Lockplate is marked Harpers Ferry and dated 1845. Whitney barrel and?stock. Two-leaf rifle rear sight; brass mounts walnut stock. Condition: Barrel has been cleaned to bright with some scattered pitting. ?Lock is very sharp and crisp with a nice dark mottled grey look. ?Stock with excellent lines and two very faint cartouches;?has been cleaned and steamed. ?Brass has been polished bright.

U.S. Model 1841 Rifle .54 cal. 33'' round barrel. Top of barrel marked at breech V P S. K. Lockplate marked E. Whitney and U.S. The rear of lockplate is marked N. Haven and dated 1849. Brass mounted with walnut stock and two cartouches on the left flat of stock opposite of the lockplate. Still retains the original ramrod. Rifle has a period rifled-musket leather sling with the single-necked brass hook. Condition: Entire rifle has a nice untouched ''been together'' look. Barrel and lock with deep dark brown patina with some pitting around the bolster and breech. Brass has untouched patina. Stock has nice open-grained look with two readable cartouches. Stock has some minimal nicks and dings.

Brass has been cleaned. Wood is dark with nicks and dings.
