Metal finish better than average, considerable blue showing. Bore is good. Mechanically sound. Missing cleaning rod and butt plate. 3" crack extending to front of lock plate to breach of barrel. Crack behind lock plate. Rust on bayonet.

Breech is stamped U.S. MODEL 1884. Butt plate stamped US. The top of the barrel is marked “A" with "VP Eagle head, P" proof marks. Both barrel bands are "U" marked. Lock plate is marked US Springfield with Eagle Crest. A sling swivel is attached to the trigger guard and front barrel band. Rear sight is marked "R" at top. Stock is marked with what appears to be #30 B. Finish has normal age appropriate wear and patina. Normal wear/dents to the stock, no cracks or chips. Clean bore. Condition: Barrel and action retains 90% of the original blue finish. Breechblock with traces of case color mostly turning brown. Walnut stock has had a coat of Tru-oil applied. Still retains a good cartouche; the stock has a cut out where the receiver sight was added. Bore is excellent.
