It should be a good "shooter".

Condition: Very good condition with an excellent bore. It retains ca 80% original barrel blue with loss on the high edges and thinning from aggressive cleaning. The receiver has most of its original case colors which have thinned and muted over time. The wood is very good with some water staining at the butt.

Condition: All metal is smooth and brown; breechblock is black; lockplate is brown; buttplate is brown and pitted. Wood has a very dried look. Stock has some nicks and dings. Bore is good might clean to better.

  Model 1884 Springfield Ttrapdoor Rifle .45-70 cal. 32.5" round barrel S/N 475567. 1884 dated breechblock no rear barrel sight a rear receiver sight has been added. Walnut stock. Condition: Barrel and action retains 90% of the original blue finish. Breechblock with traces of case color mostly turning brown. Walnut stock has had a coat of Tru-oil applied. Still retains a good cartouche; the stock has a cut out where the receiver sight was added. Bore is excellent.

Condition: Very good to near excellent overhauled condition with an excellent bore.? The stock has been cleaned and has a red stained finish applied.?There are two small tight cracks in the stock at the top and bottom tangs.

Barrel dated 5-38 and has a 5-point star below the date; bolt is 03-A3 with B2 mark and is electro-penciled with S/N 1487086. Condition: Excellent condition with an excellent bore.?Consignor states this rifle is a Marine Corps sniper rifle.

With a bridle leather sling that has single brass hook. Condition: Barrel is grey with a light brown patina mixed with pitting on the top of barrel.  Frame lock and hammer have a nice grey mixed pitting.  Buttstock and forearm have some nicks and dings.

Upper tang marked, "Model 1886 Winchester Trade Mark". Lower tang marked, "PAT. OCT. 14. 1884. JAN. 20. 1885". Walnut stocks, metal frame, round nickel steel barrel. Standard sights. Barrel length - 24". Overall length - 42 1/2". Serial number corresponds to year 1906. Barrel, magazine tube, forearm cap, receiver, and lever retain 20% to 30% blue being stronger in protected areas. Screw heads are good. Wood is good with normal storage dings. Shotgun butt stock. Action is excellent.
