1964 WORLD'S FAIR R-36 SUBWAY CAR
1964 WORLD'S FAIR R-36 SUBWAY CAR PRODUCTION MODEL WITHOUT RESERVE - Only known extant production model of the R-36 subway train cars built by St. Louis Car Company in 1962-1963 by order of the New York Transit Authority for the 1964 World's Fair, used to service the 7 Line from Times Square to the fairgrounds in Flushing Meadows-Corona Park in Queens. Double car design constructed of solid wood and mounted to its track, the model is painted in the original R-36 robin egg blue color scheme, which were affectionately known as the BlueBirds at the time. The fleet of R-36s along with other older model trains would be overhauled in the 1980s and painted Gunn Red to then become part of the iconic RedBirds of the NYC subway system. Train model is presented with bespoke wooden case. Model bears the fleet numbers 9586-9587, astonishingly one of only a few pairs of the R-36 cars preserved by NYTA. The majority of the R-36 cars were decommissioned in the early 2000s, stripped and submerged off the Atlantic coast as artificial reefs. These exact surviving R-36 cars were once displayed at NYTA Museum and used for NYTA's Train of Many Colors tourist attraction. This train model is 1/1 and the only known production model to exist. A train collector's dream.
Train model measures 7"H 5"W 50"Length
Condition: Areas of paint loss, some peeling to roof decals, losses to coupling between cars, wooden case missing two planks for outer hinges
Provenance: Single owner over 40 years, Birmingham, AL. By owner's account from notarized affadavit on file, which will convey to purchaser, train model was acquired on a trade, circa 1970, from a close friend who was an executive of a large corporation in Alabama, who stated he recieved the train model as a gift from a company based in St. Louis which he conducted business, presumably the St. Louis Car Company which produced the R-36.

1935 FORD MODEL 48-790 "WOODY"
1935 FORD MODEL 48-790 "WOODY" STATION WAGON1935 Ford Model 48-790 "Woody" Station Wagon , full off-frame restoration with approximately 700 miles since the restoration.
The model that vaulted Ford ahead of Chevrolet in the pre-war Era. Frequently kept on summer estates, hotels and resorts, this car coined the term "Station Wagon". While roughly 4,500 were built in 1935, very few remain today.
This particular example was originally acquired on Nantucket Island from a local Estate and had a thorough body-off restoration in 2001 which included new paint, a new leather interior, a mechanical rebuild, and preservation of the all original maple and birchwood paneling. The underside is in pristine condition. This Deluxe Trim model features chrome trim around the grill, windshield and hood vents.
The 3.6L (221ci) V8 runs smoothly, quietly and cool with the addition of an all aluminum radiator and electric fan. The original 3-speed manual transmission was replaced with an automatic for drivability purposes. The electrical system was updated to 12 Volts and the brakes were upgraded to hydraulic assisted drums. The vehicle recently had a complete oil change service as well as a new battery installed.
Various documents and pictures of the restoration will be made available to the winning bidder as well as the original instruction book that came with the car.
Length 15 Ft. 3 in.
