(3) LOUIS PAUL JONAS STUDIOS CARVINGS OFwildlife. To include - caribou mounted on a wooden plaque, a moose mounted on a wooden plaque and a rocky mountain goat standing on a rock. Two have Abercrombie and Fitch labels. The mountain goat has a missing horn and measures 8" high x 7" long x 5" wide. The moose is 8" high x 5" wide x 5 1/2" deep. The caribou measures 8" high x 4 1/2" wide x 5 1/2" deep. Moose horns show cracking. Caribou has some damage to rack.

The front engraved with a bear a walrus a butterfly a bee and two shield-breasted eagles; the back engraved with moose a factory flags and ''American Flags.'' 23 1/4''l. Numerous old age cracks the butt end cap is loose; two of the peg stands have lost height. There is a later piece of felt glued to the back side of the butt end.

The tray has eight decorated panels with an octagonal decorated centre and the original cotton backing. Beginning in the 18th century, French nuns learned from the Huron to use moose hair as a substitute for traditional threads in needle work and the nuns taught the native community many domestic skills including embroidery.
