Early mortar and pestle, mortar formed from hollowed-out poplar log, 19-1/4 x 11-1/2 in., yellow pine two-sided pestle, 28-1/2 x 2-1/2 in. Wear and cracks consistent with age and use, bottom of mortar with water and pest damage. Deaccessioned from MESDA and Old Salem to benefit the Acquisition Fund.
